Does the size of my huge... book... scare you?
Not at all... I've seen bigger sets of books on Dolly Parton....'s bookshelf.

A little bit... But if it's that big, it can probably stop a bullet, which makes me feel safer.

Somewhat... I'm more petrified of the size of the individual words. Are they huge, too?

Kinda... Does it work as a booster seat as well? I lost my phone book, that's why I ask. Oh, and can I use it to crush a wasp?

Pretty much... I'm scared of a lot of large things. Whales, skyscrapers, semis, Greg Vogel. Anything bigger than I am just freaks me out.

I'm scared... That I'll become illiterate trying to read this much at once. Are there pictures to give my brain a rest? No? Well, shit, then I'm even more scared.

I'm terrified... Literally, scared shitless. Which is why this is not good bathroom-break material.

So...
...I still have a final proofreading to do, but otherwise I think I'm done. I ended up self-publishing (which is cheating, I know, I know) through Lulu, but I'm happy with my book, and that's all that matters to me at the moment. It's done, done, done... and now I can begin the second book.
My novel... is huge. 597 pages huge. 239,000+ words huge. And it's the first of twenty-five novels. If any of you plan on starting this story, just know that it won't be concluded anytime soon.
But, if you're brave enough to try it... awesome. What's it about, you ask? Yeah, that would probably be a good thing to mention, wouldn't it...
"The Darkour" is about a guy named Atreu who discovers that Telepathy is a learnable ability. Learning this ability, though, nearly kills him. In surviving and later rethinking his life, he decides to turn himself into a superhero. Three years later, he has recruited and taught his little sister and best friend from college, and together the three of them have formed the Society of the Darkour. Their league of superhero-ish people patrol the city of Denver each night, relying on their Parkour agility training, Kendo-based swordsmanship, and Telepathy to protect those who can't protect themselves. When word of their ability reaches the government, the Powers That Be decide that a person, from whom secrets cannot be kept, is a liability and a danger. They task CIA agent John Adams with confronting the Darkour however possible, and by any means necessary.
Anyways, it's going to be a week or so before I get the proof copy in the mail, and I don't know how long the proofreading will take (I have three different people working on it simultaneously), but most likely my book will be ready before the end of the month.
And so...
...if anyone on Rosham would like to purchase a copy, let me know. It's $23 for a paperback, $31 for a hard cover, which is cost+shipping. I plan on devoting pretty much every extra penny I can save towards getting copies printed, so I can begin getting the book out and read.
If you want a copy, reply and let me know whether you'd prefer a paperback or hard cover. And then hunt me down at Ultimate sometime this spring and summer, or swing by the Guyzos house.
And, of course, thanks for reading this!
